Job Summary: Inglenook has an exciting opportunity for an energetic individual with experience in general facilities maintenance and enjoys being a driver. Working under the Maintenance Manager, the maintenance helper maintains numerous important areas of the 140+ year-old Inglenook estate and supports various departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  1. General facilities maintenance duties: (40%)
  • Performs daily maintenance routine
  • Transports furniture and supplies to and from various buildings
  • Checks all lights and windows, replaces bulbs and screens
  • Cleans and gasses vehicles
  • Provides driving services for owners and guests
  • Makes airport runs for pick-ups and deliveries of people and materials
  • Makes parts runs to hardware stores and other suppliers
  • Support hospitality department and events with set ups, break downs, glass buffing and cleaning


  1. General grounds Maintenance: (20%)
  • Conducts morning rounds and attends to areas needing attention
  • Rakes and leaf blows
  • Sweeps and mops all verandas and porches
  • Cleans carports and driveways
  • Cleans and fills bird feeders
  • Removes weeds, dead limbs, etc.
  • Maintains gravel paths and walkways
  • Performs animal control (gophers, skunks, rodents)
  • Packs and transports clippings, branches, leaves, grass, etc. to disposal area


  1. Seasonal maintenance: (20%)
  • Splits and stocks firewood
  • Fall tree trimming and tree removal as needed
  • Cleans gutters
  • Cleans up debris after storms


  1. Manages Pools and water features, 9 total: (20%)
  • Cleans debris out of pools and fountains
  • Adjusts and maintains pool sweeps
  • Checks water and adds chemicals
  • Sets timers and temperatures
  • Cleans filters
  • Cleans and scrubs pool decks


Supervisory Responsibilities:


Job Requirements:

Education/Experience:  high school diploma or equivalent; or up to three years related experience, valid CA Drivers license
