Job Summary:

Inglenook has an exciting opportunity for an energetic individual with experience in landscaping and gardening. Working under the Lead Groundskeeper and Maintenance Manager, the groundskeeper maintains numerous important areas of the 136-year-old Inglenook estate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1.  Conducts morning Chateau grounds routine: (50%)
  • Maintains lawns, shrubs and raised flower beds.
  • Maintains dissolved granite (DG) paths and walkways.
  • Removal of weeds, dead limbs, trimming, raking, leaf blowing and sweeping.
  • Routine watering and fertilizing.
  • Repairs and adjusts sprinklers and drip systems.
  • Sprays for bugs and manages animal control (gophers, skunks, rodents).
  • Packs and transports clippings, branches, leaves, grass, etc. to disposal area.

 

 

  1. Seasonal maintenance: (20%)
  • Covering of delicate plants.
  • Fall tree trimming as needed.
  • Fertilizes flowers and fruit trees.
  • Rakes leaves. Cleans up after storms.
  • Prepares beds, amends soil and manages compost.

 

 

  1. Manages rental property grounds: (15%)
  • General maintenance of the properties.
  • Maintains shrubs and flower beds.
  • Removal of weeds, dead limbs, trimming, raking, leaf blowing and sweeping.
  • Routine watering and fertilizing.
  • Repairs and adjusts sprinklers and drip systems.
  • Sprays for bugs and manages animal control (gophers, skunks, rodents).
  1. Manage orchards (three): (15%)
  • Picking fruit.
  • Weed eating and removal of non-native species.
  • Pruning and removal of dead limbs.
  • Watering and fertilizing.
  • Amends soil and manages compost.
  • Cleans and picks up fruit on the ground. Cleans up after storms.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

 

Job Requirements:

Education/Experience:

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
