History
Inspired by the great Australian heavyweights of Barossa and McLaren Vale as well as by the more pedigreed Syrah-based wines from the Northern Rhone of France, Roman Coppola and the Inglenook winemaking team set out to create a unique Syrah that combined the nuance and texture of the Old World with the powerful fruit of the New World. The classic temperate climate of Rutherford, with its alluvial soil and eastern exposure, offers envious conditions for producing rich, opulent Syrah. Roman Coppola designed the label for RC Reserve Syrah, selecting bold typeface and simple artwork to parallel the pure character and intense flavor of the bottle’s contents.

Winemaking Notes
Syrah vines are located in two separate areas of the Estate, both of which reflect distinctly different terroirs. It's the blending of fruit from these terroirs that creates complexity and character in the wine. Once harvested, handpicked clusters are carefully sorted, de-stemmed and sorted again to ensure that only the finest fruit makes it into our fermentation tanks.

Tasting Notes
Impressively rich without being overbearing, our 2010 RC Reserve Syrah proves highly aromatic with generous flavors of dark berries, chocolate and spices woven between fine threads of vanilla. Seamlessly balanced and well structured, this wine’s complexity and expressive nature reflects the stellar vintage – a true gem.
